1. Where can I find test data on stopping distance?  back to top

At the speeds that stopping distance is generally measured from (60 to 70mph), the test is primarily testing the tire's grip on the pavement. As delivered from the manufacturer, nearly all vehicles are able to engage the ABS or lock the wheels at these speeds. Therefore, an increase in braking power will do nothing to stop the vehicle in a shorter distance. For this reason, we do not record stopping distances.

2. What about heat?  back to top

This system actually performs well within the design parameters it is engineered for. It is considerably more efficient to stop the rotor rotation with a full surface friction pad than it is to pinch the rotor with a fraction of pad surface area common in the typical brakes.

The outer surface of the Rotor Hat is machined with slots that assist in providing air flow in and around the system. This is combined with a grooved and vented rotor to provide superior air flow to the brake.

The materials selected to produce the brake are all chosen to help dissipate heat.

3. What model bikes will the brake work with?  back to top

The 360 Brake is not bike specific. We build the brakes to be universal in nature. The brakes come sized for 1" axles, we offer reducer bushings for other sizes. Depending on the thickness of your custom wheel, a minimum of 6 inches between your forks are required. A minimum 9/16ths, good quality master cylinder is required for single brake installation and 11/16ths minimum is required for a dual installation. Please check with your bike manufacturer in regards to master cylinder size and upgrade availability.

4. Which brake do I chose, the 5" or 6" model?  back to top

The 5" model of the 360 brake has a GVW (gross vehicle weight - bike & rider) of 1000 lbs. The 6" model of the 360 brake has a GVW of 1300 lbs. We recommend that dual brakes be replaced with either a dual 5" set-up, or a single 6" brake. A single brake will give you the equivilent of a stock brake system in stopping power. Dual brakes will increase your stopping capacity.

5. Where can I get replacement parts?  back to top

Replacement parts are available online and at your local 360 Brake Dealer.

5 Inch replacement Rotors cost $85, and a set of 2 replacement friction pads cost $95.

A Friction Service Kits includes 2 Friction Pads and 1 Rotor and can be purchased for $120. 6 inch replacement rotors cost $115.00, and a set of 2 replacement friction pads cost $125. A 6 inch friction service kit costs $160.

6. Will the brake work on wire wheels?  back to top

The wire wheel application is very different from the standard chrome aftermarket billet wheels. At this time, the brake cannot be adapted to an exisisting wire wheel. You can however purchase a new wire wheel with a 360 Brake from Ride Wright Wheels or HDWheels.

7. How long do 360 Brake pads last?  back to top

The useable life of a brake disc is influenced by a number of factors including vehicle weight, driving style, vehicle usage, brake pad material, and many others. Therefore a blanket disc lifetime cannot be given. However, when used in the same conditions, a 360 Brake disc should meet or exceed the life of the disc it replaces. It is important, however, to periodically check the disc thickness, and replace the disc if it falls below the minimum allowed thickness.

8. Can I install the 360 Brake myself?  back to top

New technology requires a new understanding. We highly recommend the 360 Brake be installed by a professional only.
